The previous month has been really hectic with uni and travelling back and forth from Finland and Sweden, but I always love it going back to Finland to see my family, boyfriend and friends. I can't wait for this semester to be over and get to spend over 3 weeks in Finland, been feeling really exhausted from all the travelling and I can't wait for the holidays and all the yummy food.

Post-Birthday Brunch

STHLM Brunch Club

After coming back to Stockholm from spending such a lovely weekend back in Finland, it was back to reality...came back to tons of school work and prepping for my final exam for one of my courses. Luckily, I have such amazing friends, that even though we were all busy with uni, they came to join me in a Post-Birthday Brunch at STHLM Brunch Club. I have heard such great things about that place and been drooling over the pictures of posts I've seen. We got there around 11ish on a Wednesday and thank god there was no queue. The place was really cozy and the all of the staff spoke English. My friend and I decided to go for Bagel Avo- and Salmon with a poached egg and my other friend went for the Roasted Apple & Pear Pancakes which were A-mazing. Definitely, got a bit of food envy from that. Next time, I'll definitely go back for the pancakes. Other than that, been super busy with uni and finishing all of my assignments on time, can't wait for this semester to be over.

FALL-ing for you

Dress - Even&Odd
Boots - Only Shoes

I had such a lovely weekend back in Finland, spent it with my family, my lovely boyfriend and my friends. We celebrated my birthday starting with brunch; delicious waffles, bacon & eggs and to top it off with some mimosa. Later on that day, we drove to my parents place to have dinner and cake. The weather has been quite horrible both in Sweden and Finland, but luckily on that day it didn't rain when we went out to take some pictures.

Brunchin

Greasy Spoon Cafe

Today we decided to go brunching with some of the girls. The great thing about our courses right now is that we usually do not have lectures everyday, therefore we have quite a lot of free time during the weekdays and weekends. Usually, brunch places in Stockholm have quite long queues during the weekends, therefore if you happen to crave some breakfast or brunch food in the middle of the week, don't wait til the weekend. We arrived around half past 11 and there were a lot of tables available, which was great for us. The brunch place that we ended up going to is called the Greasy Spoon Cafe, they have two locations; one in Södermaln and the other one in Odenplan. They serve breakfast and brunch all day, everyday, which is great, since who doesn't love some pancakes for lunch or dinner? They serve a variety of different brunch items on their main menu and they also have a weekly specials menu, which has three different items (both savoury and sweet) that is only available during that week.

After browsing through the menu, I ended up ordering an Eggs Arlington (poached eggs on an English muffin with hollandaise sauce and smoked salmon), which is usually my go-to brunch item and a cup of latte. Both of my friends ordered the Buckwheat pancakes which looked so yummy, definitely considering to get that next time.

Living in Stockholm

Hey you lovely people!

I decided to start writing a blog again and this time the main focus will be about my life in Stockholm as a student. This blog is for anyone that is interested in hearing about my life in Stockholm and overall how it is living here as a student.

Leather jacket - H&M
Dress - Zara

A little background about myself:
- I am currently 23 years old (soon to be 24 in a few weeks, yikes!)
- Doing my Masters degree in PR and Advertising at Stockholm University (Stockholm Business School)
- Originally from Finland, but my parents are from China and Malaysia
- Graduated last year with a double degree in European Management
- Lived in Berlin, Hong Kong and London (for my studies/work)

This is my 7th week here in Stockholm, Sweden and it has definitely felt longer than that. For the first 4-5 weeks I haven't been feeling quite myself. With moving to a new city and being a student again, I have had a hard time adjusting myself back to this type of a lifestyle. It definitely felt more easier a few years ago than now but...

Lets start with some tips living in Stockholm.
How to get to Arlanda Airport?

First of all, most airlines will fly to Arlanda Airport, which is located in the north of Stockholm and it is quite far away. Arlanda Express is advertised in every corner, it is definitely the fastest train to the city (18min), but it will cost you quite a fortune. A ticket for a youth (18-25) will cost you 165 Swedish krona for one-way, which is around 16 euros and this is considered "cheap", since the adult ticket is 299 Swedish krona. Arlanda Express is great, if you do not have any other option on getting to the airport, since the train runs every 15min, therefore you will definitely save time.

Another way to get to the airport, is with the normal trains (pendeltåg) travelling towards Uppsala. This is a bit slower and cheaper than Arlanda Express, but while you're travelling towards Uppsala, you would need to purchase a supplement ticket for travelling to Arlanda, which you can pay while you get there or before you enter the trains in one of the small booths. The supplement fee costs 120 Swedish krona, which gives you access to stop at Arlanda Central Station. When comparing this one to Arlanda Express, I would definitely choose the Express, since you would need to just add a bit more money.

Lastly, this is how I travel to/from Arlanda Airport. I would take the train (pendeltåg) towards Märsta, which is very close to Arlanda Airport and this will only cost you the train fare (32SEK) and from Märsta, there is a bus station located right next to the train station where you get off. Take the bus number 583 towards Arlanda. The bus also stops at all the terminals, which is extremely useful, since the airport is quite big and the walking distance between the terminals is quite long. Overall, this journey is quite tiresome, depending on where you live in Stockholm, but you will definitely save a lot more money. As a student, with no income and no additional capital to spend, this is what I would recommend to get to Arlanda Airport.

SL Card

The first thing to do when arriving to Stockholm, is to get your SL card for the public transportation, this will make your life so much easier. The SL card works for all public transportations (train (pendeltåg), bus, metro (tunnelbana) and tram), you can either top up your card with credit or buy a monthly pass, a new card will cost you 20 SEK. As a student, you can get a student discount for a monthly pass by showing your student card to the person in the information booth. The student monthly pass costs 590 SEK, while normally it would cost you 890 SEK.

After living for almost two months now in Stockholm, it has deifnitely become easier to adjust to all of this. I never expected to feel so overwhelmed when moving here, since I should be familiar with all of this, right?
